Historical Perservation

Over the last five years the chapter has  sponsored and secured more than $32,000 of grants for historical preservation projects in our community. South Farmington Friendship House is the received their check in 2020, which was their second DAR grant.

In 2021 we have submitted grant applications requesting $20,000 of grant money for two local non for profits. 

Working with your National Society we are able to advocate  and support the many historical projects in our community.  Join us!

  Education 

We are dedicated to promoting education, supporting classrooms, teachers, recognizing students with awards and scholarships. 
We sponsor and support DAR schools. 

 Patriotism

Promoting Patriotism certainly  includes participation in local parades.  BUt it also includes Flag dedications in the community, marking Patriot Graves, placing historical markers, conducting memorial services, and so much more.  

Who are we?


Our over 150 local chapter  members come from a variety of backgrounds and interests, but all share a common bond of having an ancestor who helped contribute to securing the independence of the United States of America.

 

Our chapter members range in ages from 18 - 100! Any woman 18 years or older, regardless of race, religion or ethnic background, who can prove lineal descent from a patriot of the American Revolution is eligible to join.
